The LIV Golf series is bankrolled by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund. The department has been investigating the PGA Tour for trying to keep its players from defecting to LIV. On Monday, Senator Richard Blumenthal asked the PGA Tour and LIV Golf for communications and records on their planned tie-up.

The move ends a bitter legal battle between the organizations that has split the golf world and its top players. The organizations said on Tuesday they will work to allow a process for LIV Golf players to reapply for membership on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. The potential for top players to compete on other tour events will help boost ratings, experts said. It is unclear how broadcasting rights for the TV networks that sell commercial time during golf events could change in the long term. The CW network, which airs LIV Golf in the U.S., said there is no change to the event schedule in 2023, while NBC Sports, which airs some PGA Tour events, said it was still learning about the announcement.

LONDON — Amazon confirmed Tuesday that it has launched a consultation to close three U.K. warehouses, where it employs a combined 1,200 people. The company plans to open two new fulfilment centers in the U.K. over the next three years, in Peddimore and Stockton-on-Tees, adding 2,500 jobs. The Amazon spokesperson added that the U.K. site closures were not part of the 18,000 job cuts that the company announced last week. "Hard-up Amazon workers can't suddenly be expected to up sticks and move to a different fulfilment centre which may be many miles away," he said, accusing the firm of failing to provide a stable employment model.

According to the OWGR website, the ranking points breakdown is derived from each tournament's total field rating and points are awarded players who make the cut and complete an event, subject to their finishing position in the tournament. LIV Golf's 54-hole events do not have a cut. LIV Golf, which last weekend had 12 major champions in the field, has lured some of the game's biggest names away from the PGA Tour with the promise of guaranteed, big-money paydays and a reduced schedule. Critics say LIV Golf, which is bankrolled by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, amounts to blatant "sportswashing" by a nation trying to improve its reputation in light of its history of human rights abuses.
